Enrico Allais, Maestro della Leone dal '70 all'80,
morì nel 1988, alle soglie degli ottant'anni.
Ebbe tre passioni: il lavoro, lo sport, la musica. La
musica è detta per ultima solo perché
durò per tutta la vita.
Tecnico cartaio alle Cartiere di Coazze, fu poi capomacchine nel Veneto ove rimase sette anni. Nei vari spostamenti di lavoro si stabilì anche a Modane e persino in Algeria.
Con un'immensa fiducia in se stesso, andato in pensione, comperò una cascina in quel di Casale e la gestì da solo per un po' di tempo, realizzando il sogno di chi, lavorando in fabbrica, anela al ritorno alle origini. Quindi, una grande passione per il lavoro.
Lo sport. Certamente non molti ricordano che in giovinezza stabilì in corsa a piedi il record dalla piazza di Coazze al Rubinet e ritorno (la strada per il Forno non esisteva ancora) in tre ore e un quarto. Praticava la corsa a piedi e in bicicletta, principalmente d'estate. Quindi una grande passione anche per lo sport attivo.
E fu la bicicletta che gli consentì di entrare da protagonista nel mondo della musica. Giovanissimo, terminato il primo turno in cartiera, saliva sulla bici da corsa, violino a tracolla e piombava a Torino per seguire corsi privati di musica e strumento. Narrano che da Trana a Orbassano, in bici, letteralmente dormisse. Imparò a suonare quasi tutti gli strumenti, ad eccezione del pianoforte, ma i suoi "preferiti" furono il violino e, secondo, il clarinetto.
Fu Maestro della Banda di Coazze da giovanissimo. Fu Maestro di banda per qualche anno a Giaglione e per due anni a Trana, banda e allievi. Poi la "Leone". Intanto componeva musica, compose per tutta la vita, e fu per lungo tempo in relazione per reciproca collaborazione con il famoso Maestro Serventi di Torino. Non abbandonò l'esercizio del violino né a Modane, né in Algeria, né alla cascina di Casale: il suo tempo libero, anche soltanto un'ora, era per lui. Era come immergersi in se stesso per scoprirsi, riconoscersi, coltivare i ricordi, esprimersi, costruire il futuro componendo.
Compose sempre tantissime marce, ricordo "Giaveno", "Botetto", "Pinasca", "Sabrina", "Nuova Europa" e un'infinità di ballabili, polke, mazurke, valzer ed anche "one step", un tipo di ballo che si è perso e più nessuno ricorda. Componeva e, conoscendo gli strumenti, orchestrava, lavorando di notte. Ancora oggi molta della sua musica è in elenco SIAE ed è eseguita in tutt'Italia.
Insegnò con costanza e con determinazione, trasferendo il suo impegno e la sua passione in numerosi allievi. Quando sul finire del '79 fu colto dall'ictus che lo avrebbe menomato, fu giocoforza trasportarlo in ospedale: volle con sé gli spartiti su cui stava lavorando e se li tenne stretti.
Con riconoscenza, con stima, con affetto, ricordiamo così Enrico Allais, Maestro non dimenticato della nostra "Leone".

Enrico Allais, Leone's conductor form th 70 up to the

Paper technics specialist at the Paper manufactories in Coazze, he became responsible for the machines in the region of Venice, where he stayed for seven years. In all his moving for jobs he went to Modane (France), he even went in Algiers.
When he retired, he bought a farm ner Casale (Piedmont). He ran it all alone for a while, living the dream of the, that after a lifelong in manufactory, needs to comme where he once belonged. So, a great passion for the job.
Sport. Not many people will remind that when he was young he fixed a record, running from the main place in Coazze up to The mount Rubinet (2100m / 1,3 mile) and back; in 3.15 hours. He used to practice running and cycling, espacially in summer time. So a great passion for active sport.
It was surely the bicycle that allowed him to step in the music world as a protagonist. As a youngster, by the end of the first shift in the paper factory, he, with his violin on the back, jumped on his byke then flew down to Turin (somethiing like a 25 miles on mountain roads) to get some private lessions. It is told that from Trana to Orbassano (a 10 miles long) that almost sleept onto his bike. He learned to play almost every instrument, bus his best loved were the violin and second the clarinet.
He has been director of the Band of Coazze very young. Then he directed for a few year a Giaglione (not far from here, then he directed a couple of year the band in Trana (he mamaged players and learners). The he came to the Leone. In the meanwhile he composed. He did all his lifelong. For a long time he collaborated with the famous Maestro Serventi in Turin. He never gave up the violin exercise, even while he travelled (Modane, Algiers, the farm) When he got a loose time, even just an hour, this time for his beloved violin. It was for him just diving into himself to explore himself, to find himslef again, to bring back memories, to build the future, composing. He composed a lot of marches (some title Giaveno, Botetto, Pinasca, Sabrina and so on), he wrote an infinity of ball music, polkas, mazurkas, waltz even a few one-step. He wrote music, and as he kew the instruments he harmonised, working at night. Actually, today most of his music is still in the list fo the Italian socity for the composer of music (SIAE), and it is played along the whole Italy.
He teached, with determeination and patience, transferring his will and his passion in a lot of pupils. By the end of the 1979 a stroke got him. It was necessary to bring him to the hospital, he wanted to keep near him the scores he was working on and kepy them tight to him.
We remember, that way, with thankfulness and love, Enrico Allais, unforgetable Maestro of our Leone.
